Telra is back with another summer of learning! Designed as an alternative to your typical summer camp, Telra camps combine learning and fun with clear instructional goals and an opportunity to move the needle on student learning in four short weeks.
The camps are open to students from any school, but spaces are limited, and Telra students will have priority. (Otherwise, they will be allocated in order of registration, so sign up fast!)

Children's Literature Analysis &
Introduction to Number Theory
Students will register for these two courses as a package set, allowing them to engage in both advanced mathematics and literary analysis throughout the summer. During each camp day, students will participate in Number Theory during the first session of the day and Children’s Literature during the second session.
Introduction to Number Theory covers fundamental principles of number theory, including primes and composites, divisors and multiples, divisibility, remainders, modular arithmetic, and number bases. Students will work through approximately half the Number Theory textbook textbook.
This literature portion of this camp is targeted at advanced readers who want to explore children's classics at a deeper level. We'll explore questions like What is children's literature? How has it changed throughout history? What is it like today?
Students will track children's literature as genre throughout time and advanced readers will learn literary analysis while charting the development of a genre that is not always considered from an academic perspective.

Introduction to Competition Math &
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Students will register for these two courses as a package set, allowing them to engage in both mathematics enrichment and novel study throughout the summer. During each camp day, students will participate in Harry Potter novel study during the first session of the day and Competition Math during the second.
Students will step into the wizarding world of Harry Potter through a novel study of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. This camp will use a unit developed by the Center for Gifted Education at William & Mary to encourage advanced readers to develop their skills at analyzing and interpreting literature. Students will complete activities that highlight themes and concepts, explore literary elements, and make real-world connections.
Designed for math lovers looking to enter the world of competition math, the Competition Math camp will give students a chance to engage with high-level problems and creative problem-solving strategies. Students will learn to think critically and approach unfamiliar problems in effective ways while employing competition-style thinking through fun and engaging problems. It’s the perfect launchpad for future math competitors.
