Peer Tutoring

We are excited to share that a select group of our 9th and 10th grade students is offering peer tutoring sessions for math on Tuesdays from 3:40–4:45 PM.

If you would like your child to participate, please complete the sign-up form (Click Here). If you have more than one child attending, you will need to complete a separate form for each child. Each session is limited to 10 students and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions can be booked up to three weeks in advance.

Please note that peer tutoring is for math only, and students must bring their workbook, textbook, and any specific assignments or problems they need help with.

American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) - register by 11/3/25

Calling all middle and high school students looking to engage in an exciting problem-solving experience! Challenge yourself and improve your mathematical abilities by taking the AMC 8, the AMC 10, and/or the AMC 12, depending on your grade and math level.

The AMC program is more than just a competition; it’s a national effort to strengthen the mathematical capabilities of our next generation of innovators. By challenging students with engaging problems, the AMC sets the stage for lifelong mathematical exploration, discovery, and achievement.

Telra offers these competition opportunities free of charge for our students, but you must register here to take advantage so that the school can purchase an appropriate number of exams. For the AMC 10 and AMC 12 dates you must register by 11/3/25.

The 2025-26 MAA AMC dates are:

  • AMC 10 A and AMC 12 A – November 05, 2025

  • AMC 10 B and AMC 12 B – November 13, 2025

  • AMC 8 – January 22 to 28, 2026

New Tardy Guidelines Effective 11/3/25

We continue to have high volume of morning car line arrivals at the same time, causing a backlog of traffic and preventing a steady flow for dropping off the students. As a result, we are having a significant amount of unexcused late arrivals, or “tardies”. As has always been the expectation, students are required to be in their seats in their first block classroom at 8:15am, regardless of whether their car door was opened by a staff member, when they arrived on campus, or if there was traffic in the area. Families should arrive early and plan their mornings to arrive well in time for the students to be seated in their class at 8:15am. Morning drop-off starts at 7:40am and our staff are here ready to welcome you.

To help minimize tardies and their impact on our academic day, we are implementing a new procedure for tardies to encourage on-time arrivals beginning Monday, November 3rd.

If a student has:

  • 5 morning tardies - parents will receive a warning via email explaining the tardy guidelines and potential impacts if further tardies occur.

  • 10 morning tardies - parents are required to attend an in-person meeting with school administration. Students will be ineligible to participate in extracurricular activities, special events (movie nights, culture fair, etc.), or field trips until the meeting occurs.

  • 15 morning tardies - Students will be ineligible to participate in extracurricular activities, special events (movie nights, culture fair, etc.), or field trips for the remainder of the semester.

Excessive tardies could impact student success and impact retention, so please change your morning routine as needed, to ensure your students are in their seat by 8:15am.

Uniform Advisory

We have had some students consistently arriving at school out of uniform. Beginning Monday, 11/3, parents will be called in to the school to bring a change of clothes for their child. Our Dean of Students, Mr. McCray will be making calls if first block teachers identify any non-compliant dress code issues.

With the colder weather, please pay extra attention to the requirements regarding sweaters and jackets worn indoors.

This week we have continued to see black tights, high tops, and crocs - all of which are non-compliant. Please have your children wear alternative clothing.

For our school uniform policy, please check out our School Uniform page on the Telra website.
