Charlotte Math Club @ Telra

Telra is once again home of the Charlotte Math Club. The club typically meets one Saturday per month at Telra.

The Charlotte Mathematics Club was begun in 1987 by Dr. Harold Reiter for the purpose of providing enrichment and challenges for students who have a strong interest and ability in mathematics. The club meets approximately once a month from September to May. At club meetings, students attend the group that best matches their mathematical background.

  • The Elementary Group (formerly MMC) is for our youngest students who are lovers of mathematics, but who have not formally studied algebra. These students are typically in 3rd through 5th grades.

  • The Junior Group is for students who have completed a year of algebra, and have a basic knowledge of geometry, number theory, and counting. These students are typically in 7th through 9th grades.

  • The Senior Group is for motivated students in Geometry or a higher level mathematics course. These students are typically in 8th through 12th grades.

We will continue to meet at Telra Institute, 4150 McKee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28270, starting at 9:30AM.  As a reminder, there is no cost to attend our meetings and no "membership" requirements, though parents are occasionally asked to contribute some snacks for the kids.  Please come if you are interested in math!
