Mr. McCray - Retirement

Telra's Dean of Students, Mr. McCray, is retiring at the end of April. Mr. McCray is Telra's very first Dean of Students and grew to be a key part of our school community and source of support for students and staff alike. After a first career in the military and 21 years in education, he'll be easing up and spending more time with his family. We are going to miss him and wish him the best in this new chapter in his life.

Mrs. Zagorski, who many of you already know as a K-3 teacher, will be stepping into the Dean of Students role at the beginning of May. Mrs. Zagorski brings a wealth of experience both in the classroom and in administration, and we are excited for her to join our leadership team. Over the course of the next few weeks, Mrs. Zagorski will be shadowing Mr. McCray and working closely with the rest of administration to ensure a smooth transition.

Please help us in thanking Mr. McCray for his wonderful service at Telra and welcoming Mrs. Zagorski into her new role!

Telra Summer Camps

Telra is excited to offer summer camp this summer! Our BASE program will shift from before and after-school care to summer-care and we will also continue with our amazing Camp Wonder academic camps!

Camp Wonder

Telra is back with another summer of learning! Designed as an alternative to your typical summer camp, Telra camps combine learning and fun with clear instructional goals and an opportunity to move the needle on student learning in four short weeks.

The camps are open to students from any school, but spaces are limited, and Telra students will have priority. (Otherwise, they will be allocated in order of registration, so sign up fast!)

  • Provide 4 weeks of instruction

    • 8:15am - noon

    • July 6 - July 31 (Monday - Friday)

    • Some camps are modular so that you can participate week-by-week

  • Core camp pricing

    • $250/week ($1,000 total for 4 weeks)

    • Free for Telra Remote Academy students who want an in-person experience for the summer

BASE Summer Camp

Telra is excited to offer summer camp this summer! Our BASE program will shift from before and after-school care to summer-care! We are offering camp for the full summer!

Telra adopts the Let Grow Play Club approach to help kids build confidence, resilience, and self-reliance through independent play. We value risk-taking within safe limits, and during Play Club activities, staff supervise for safety only, not to lead or guide play. Kids solve disputes, negotiate their own rules, and invent their own games. Conflict resolution support only provided when truly necessary.

Benefits of Play Clubs...

1. Foster independent & cooperative play

2. Build social skills & cross-grade relationships

3. Promote responsibility and self-regulation

4. Encourage creativity & imagination

5. Develop problem-solving & conflict resolution skills

6. Support physical activity & wellness

7. Ease the morning transition

8. Reduce after-school stress & overscheduling

9. Support working families

More Camps!

We will continue to update our summer camp offerings by adding options for our community partners. Please save the link for the page below and keep checking it to fill out your summer camp needs!

Telra Culture Fair - Next Week!

We are thrilled to announce that our school will be hosting a Culture Fair event on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 5-7pm, and we would love to invite you and your family to join us in celebrating the wondrous cultures that make Telra such a vibrant community.

What is the Culture Fair?

Our Culture Fair offers an exciting opportunity for us to come together, share our unique traditions, and celebrate the many cultures that make up our school. It's a day to learn from each other, foster mutual understanding, and deepen our appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that enrich our community.

While traditional elements like cuisine, dance, attire, and celebrations from around the world will be a highlight of the event, we also recognize that culture is not limited to these practices. Culture is also shaped by the passions, interests, and identities that make each of us unique.

How You Can Participate

We invite you to participate in the Telra Culture Fair in whatever way feels meaningful to you. Whether you'd like to share a piece of your culture, showcase a tradition or hobby, or simply attend and enjoy the festivities with your family, your presence will be deeply appreciated. We welcome volunteers to help organize activities, set up tables, or contribute in any other way that interests you. Your involvement will make a significant impact on the experience we create for our students and the entire Telra community.

New This Year

This year we are allowing interested volunteers to sign up and showcase a cultural dance or demonstration. These will be on the blacktop and will be scheduled in 10-20 min increments, depending on how many sign-ups we have. The country should be represented with a table at the fair, and then also can be showcased by a dance or demonstration. All participants should be Telra family members of a current student or staff member. The events will take place outside on the blacktop, weather permitting. Please sign up using the 2nd button below.

If you'd like to participate or volunteer, please review the available slots and sign-up by clicking below.

Should you have any questions or need more information, feel free to email karly.lucas@telra.org.
