Supporting Telra

Updated: Oct 26

Here are some of the ways families can support our school:

The 2025 Campaign for 𝜏au - the Telra Annual Use fund

ree

Charter schools receive far less in resources & funding than other public schools, which is why The Telra Annual Use fund (𝜏au) is the top fundraising priority for the school.

Funding from 𝜏au supports everything from school buses to field trips, yearbooks to clubs. We need your help to enhance the experience for our students and attract and retain high-quality staff.

This video explains the why behind 𝜏au - giving you a perspective into the funding gap, how the funds will be used, and why the annual fund structure is the best way to raise these funds. Please set aside some time to watch and learn why your support is critical. Last year, our generous families helped raise more than $110,000, and this year we hope to increase awareness enough to achieve our $600,000 fundraising goal. Visit the 𝜏au home page where you can learn more, and it's quick and easy for you to support the cause.

Your children spend more than 7 hours each day with us. Won't you help us make Telra into all it can be?

GoPlaySave

We had a successful campaign this Fall and have wrapped up for the year. Look to buy one again next year!

Information from this past campaign:

Want to earn FREE passes to SkyZone, Sports Connection & more, AND help Telra? Request your fundraising packet by 1:00pm on 10/2!

We are once again excited to host the GoPlaySave Telra fundraiser! GoPlaySave is a popular Charlotte area coupon book, and our school earns funds for each book sold!

Of all possible fundraising sales, we chose GoPlaySave because we think it provides value to our families as well!

Each book is $30 and full of coupons for restaurants and attractions all around the Charlotte area. It’s a smart investment and easy to make your money back in just a couple of uses. Your friends, family and neighbors will love this book!

This year, there are 2 ways to participate. Learn more on our GoPlaySave page about how to purchase a book for yourself or request a packet for you children to sell them and earn rewards.

Volunteering at Telra

We love volunteers at Telra! It's a great way to contribute to and enrich your child's school experience. Please complete the 25-26 parent volunteer survey to tell us what you can do.

Here are some ideas:

  • Operations (e.g., morning or afternoon car line, work the register or help kids shop during book fair)

  • Helping Hands - helping make copies, assemble furniture, hang up art, help teachers prepare materials for their classes. Sign up for specific dates here: Helping Hands

  • Extracurriculars (coaching a club or a sport)

  • Events (organize a gathering, support with logistics, chaperone a field trip)

  • Or maybe something we haven't though of yet. Get creative!

The Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular will transform Ballantyne’s Backyard, November 28 – December 30, into an outdoor enchanting walking trail filled with over a million illuminated lights, larger-than-life holiday installations and scenes that will dazzle all visitors.

In addition to eye-catching, twinkling lights and festive installations, guests will experience a Winter Wonderland complete with dozens of magical over-sized snow globes, hundreds of decorated trees, The Alpine Avalanche Snow Tube Slide, and a new light castle, which is a stunning 30’ x 40’ structure that visitors can walk through and explore, immersing themselves into a magical, illuminated world.

There will also be a new kids’ playground area that will provide children with a fun and engaging space.  Santa will be there every night through Dec. 23.  On select evenings, the festive atmosphere will be enhanced by special performances from ballerinas and other performers, adding a touch of elegance and wonder to the experience.  There will be children’s activities, a Moon Bounce, and a Holiday Village complete with boutiques, shops and rotating Food Trucks offering seasonal fare.
