K-8 Open House will be on Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13, 2026!

Welcome to the Open House from Principal Rearick! This video covers some basic school rules and logistics on attending school at Telra. For Q&A about Open House itself, scroll down

Read on for all you need to know to be ready.

What is open house for?

Open house is for K-8 parents and children, both new to Telra and returning families, to meet your child's teachers, find their classrooms, and drop off school supplies.

Each session begins in the gym, where you will also have an opportunity to:

  • Pick up your car tag for new families

  • Pick up a printed class schedule for the 1st week of school

  • Pick up your 25-26 yearbook for returning students (one free per family, but you can order extras!)

  • Speak with Transportation services

  • Purchase spirit wear t-shirts

  • Learn about our extracurriculars, and more.

When do I come?

We have four sessions scheduled across two different days. Please arrive early to park at McKee Road Elementary and cross the street over to Telra . Doors open at 4:20pm.

August 12 - Last names (family names) that begin with letters A-L

  • Session 1 - 4:30 - 5:20pm

  • Session 2 - 5:30 - 6:20pm

August 13 - Last names (family names) that begin with letters M-Z

  • Session 1 - 4:30 - 5:20pm

  • Session 2 - 5:30 - 6:20pm

Where do I park?

Please park at McKee Road Elementary (4101 McKee Rd), across the street from Telra Institute (4150 McKee Rd). We will have a crossing guard to help families cross safely to the Telra Campus.

What do I do with school supplies?

Here is the list of school supplies. Bring them with you to the gym where you'll start your session

After the Principal Presentation, you will visit two locations:

  1. Your child's distribution classroom - This is where you will drop off all of the school supplies that are designated to "stay with classroom."

  2. Your child's locker or cubby - You can leave "personal" school supplies here if you like, or you can take these back home and bring them with you on the first day of school. (Either way, be sure to visit the cubby/locker so you can learn where it is.) And remember, "lockers" at Telra do not lock, so don't leave any valuables here.

Who are my child's teachers?

By the Open House dates, preliminary* classes and teachers will be posted on Alma. You should be able to log onto Alma to find your child's schedule and see all of their teachers.

From your home screen in Alma, click on any child to see their "overview" tab, which lists their classes. Students can also log into Alma using their Telra Microsoft credentials to check their own schedules.

Your child will start their morning in their 1st Block classroom (labelled B1 on their schedule)

*This schedule and teacher assignments are preliminary. After placement tests are completed in the first week of school, some students will move instructional groups or grade levels. Even if your child's instructional level does not change, if a large number of other students need to change placements, it could impact the overall schedule and teacher assignments for your child as well.

Open house is an opportunity for you to meet all the teachers - not just the teachers your child is assigned to at the moment. With our dynamic model, there is a good chance your child may see some other teachers throughout the year, so take advantage of our open house format and mingle!

Where do I go to meet the teachers and find my cubby or locker?

Teachers will be stationed in several reception areas throughout the school. In addition, once you know your cubby or locker number, the guide below will tell you where to find it:

  • Adventure Neighborhood (1st floor East) - Mostly Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers

    • Cubbies B.1 - B.48

    • Cubbies C.1 - C.23

    • Cubbies D.1 - D.24

  • Challenge Neighborhood (2nd floor East) - Mostly 2nd and 3rd grade teachers

    • Cubbies E.1 - E.48

    • Cubbies F.1 - F.23

    • Cubbies G.1 - G.24

    • Cubbies H.1 - H.12

  • Journey Neighborhood (2nd floor West)

    • Cubbies I.1 - I.48

    • Cubbies J.1 - J.23

    • Cubbies K.1 - K.24

    • Cubbies L.1 - L.12

  • Illumination Neighborhood (3rd floor East)

    • Lockers 99 - 230

  • Flight Neighborhood (3rd floor West)

    • Lockers 1 - 98

  • Art room (1st floor West) - Specials teachers

    • Cubbies A.1 - A.36

How do I find my child's cubby / car tag number / school ID number / school email?

These pieces of information will be in Alma, so it really is very important that you confirm your login and access.

When you log into Alma, click the circle with your initials and select "My Info" to find your child's information. There you'll find:

  1. Your child's school ID number (also sometimes called their Infinite Campus ID number)

  2. Your child's Telra email address

  3. Your child's Locker / Cubby number (K-8 only). Now that you have the number, go find your cubby. (Note that your cubby/locker has likely changed from last year!)

  4. Your family's Car Tag number. Alma doesn't have a "car tag" field, so this is labelled "Lunch Number" on Alma.

    1. Your "Car Tag / Lunch Number" is the number you should display on your windshield when you come to pick up your child at the end of each school day.

    2. If you had a car tag from a previous school year, you can still use it. New car tags for incoming families will be distributed at Open House. If you do not have yours, please just write your Car Tag number in clear lettering and affix it to your windshield so we can read it when you drive up.

How do I find my child's Distribution Classroom?

Your child's Distribution Classroom depends on their grade and schedule. From your home screen in Alma, click on any child to see their "overview" tab, which lists their classes

  • Grades K-3: Your child's distribution classroom is their 4th Block class (labelled B4 on their schedule) - There should be a 3-digit room number shown for this class next to the teacher's name.

  • Grades 4-8: Your child's distribution classroom is their 3rd Block class (labelled B3 on their schedule) - There should be a 3-digit room number shown for this class next to the teacher's name.
