NC DPI Systemwide Testing Outage on Wednesday, 5/28

During our EOG and EOC testing on Wednesday, the statewide testing system went down, causing delays in testing and impacting the day. The statement from the NC Dept of Public Instruction was:

"There was a system error that caused NCTest not to function. This was statewide, meaning for all students who were testing this morning. The outage was approximately 40 minutes. Corrective action quickly brought the system back up, and approximately 120,000 students resumed testing."

We appreciate your patience yesterday as we navigated the outage and resulting impact to the school day and dismissal. This was the first occurrence and was not expected. We are planning on a normal testing day tomorrow but will send out a message if another issue arises.

Early Release Day - Friday, 5/30

Tomorrow, Friday 5/30, we will have a shortened school day due to EOG or EOC testing. School will start as usual at 8:15am, however the school day will end at 1pm.

Arrival and Dismissal

The arrival process will remain the same, however our dismissal will be at 1pm, with cars allowed to enter the car line at 12:35pm. (Don't come too early. That will just back up traffic on McKee Rd.)

Lunch

  • K-2nd grade students will eat lunch on their field trip

  • 3rd-9th grade students will not eat lunch at school (For those students who have ordered lunch from Telra, they will be provided a pre-packaged lunch as they depart the school.)

Snacks

3rd through 9th grade students may bring a snack with them to eat after testing concludes.

Early Dismissals

Students will not be able to leave school early as to not disrupt their EOC or EOG testing. They will remain at school for the full day until dismissal at 1pm. If your child has a doctor's appointment, please reschedule the appointment, or your child will be required to make up the test on an alternate day.

Superlative Club

Superlative Club will be offering aftercare beginning at 1:00 PM and running until 6:00 PM. Please click here to sign your child up for Superlative Club on those days.
