Car Line Reminders

The school day starts at 8:15am, with children in their classroom seats. Our staff are out early to help your children enter the school safely.

Car line begins at 7:35am. Below is a picture of car line on 5/22/25 at 7:56am:

We are lonely.
We are lonely.

Here's what you can do to make everyone's carline experience better

  • Arrive earlier. The bulk of our families arrive between 8:05am and 8:15am. If you come earlier, there will be a speedier drop-off, less traffic, and fewer tardies.

  • Have your child prepared to exit the car quickly. They should have their items ready to exit the car as soon as their door is opened.

  • Say goodbye in the car and not as your child is walking into the school.

  • At 8:15am the teachers helping in car line will return to the building to start the academic day. We will stop cars that arrive at 8:15am or later and ask you to park in the left lane and walk your children into the main office to sign them in

  • At 8:15am, if your child is not in their seat in their classroom, they will be marked tardy.

Dismissal Note - If you are sent to Cone 0, please turn your left signal on to advise those around you.

Transportation Update

As you may know, we have brought the transportation service in house and have acquired four buses to run our routes. As of yesterday, we now have four routes underway.

It's important to remember:

Bus riders - As mentioned above, some of the bus routes are long, so be courteous and be ready with your students at the stop. Any delays will impact all the remaining stops and school arrival for that bus route.

  1. Arrive 10 minutes early to the bus stop.

  2. Have your child "Bus Ready". Meaning, that your students is ready to board the bus immediately upon bus arrival at the stop. Any loading preparation, material gathering, lunches, bookbags and goodbyes, etc. need to be conducted before the bus arrives at the stop

  3. The bus times on the schedule are when the buses will LEAVE for the next stop, so plan accordingly. (See point 1)

Arrival and Dismissal

The arrival process will remain the same, however our dismissal will be at 1pm, with cars allowed to enter the car line at 12:35pm.

Lunch

  • K-2nd grade students will eat lunch on their field trip

  • 3rd-9th grade students will not eat lunch at school (For those students who have ordered lunch from Telra, they will be provided a pre-packaged lunch as they depart the school.)

Snacks

As mentioned in the Principal's note above, 3rd through 9th grade students may bring a snack with them to eat after testing concludes.

Wildflowers at Telra

Our Envirothon Explore students planted wildflower seeds in the parking lot pond area and they have started to sprout. To minimize impact to the area, they used small holes in the mulch instead of digging tools. It is exciting to see them beginning to grow! These seeds are native to the southeast and were donated by a parent.
