Telra Science Olympiad Division B - On to States!

Our Division B team recently had the incredible opportunity to compete at the North Carolina Science Olympiad - regionals, where students were exposed to a highly engaging and competitive academic environment. With multiple teams participating from across Charlotte, the event provided a valuable platform for students to showcase their knowledge, collaborate under pressure, and gain hands-on experience in various scientific disciplines. Beyond the competition, it was a meaningful learning experience that encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving among all participants.

We are proud to share that our team secured an impressive 3rd place overall, earning 109 ranking points. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and hard work of our students, who consistently went above and beyond in their preparation. Equally important was the unwavering support from parents, whose encouragement and involvement played a crucial role in making this journey successful. The combined effort of students, coaches, and families truly made this accomplishment possible.

Our team earned medals in the following events:

1. Heredity - Rank 2 - Yesha Savla and Ananya Pandey.

2. Meteorology - Rank 3 - Kapil Shyam Sundar and Jeremy Du

3. Rocks and Minerals - Rank 3 - Aryan Upadhyay and Jeremy Du

4. Circuit Lab - Rank 3 - Aaryan Mistry and Rishi Chowdhary

5. Solar system - Rank 4 - Ethan Chen and Aadith Chepuri

6. Entomology - Rank 4 - Aryan Upadhyay and Ryan Garg

7. Helicopter - Rank 4 - Aaryan Mistry and Aadith Chepuri

8. Disease and Detectives - Rank 5 - Aarohi Pulipati and Ananya Pandey

In conclusion, this success not only highlights our students’ academic excellence but also reflects the strength of our school’s commitment to fostering a culture of learning and achievement.

We look forward to representing our school at the state level of the Science Olympiad and continuing to build on this momentum.

Telra Summer Camp

Telra is excited to offer summer camp this summer! Our BASE program will shift from before and after-school care to summer-care!

Telra adopts the Let Grow Play Club approach to help kids build confidence, resilience, and self-reliance through independent play. We value risk-taking within safe limits, and during Play Club activities, staff supervise for safety only, not to lead or guide play. Kids solve disputes, negotiate their own rules, and invent their own games. Conflict resolution support only provided when truly necessary.

Benefits of Play Clubs...

1. Foster independent & cooperative play

2. Build social skills & cross-grade relationships

3. Promote responsibility and self-regulation

4. Encourage creativity & imagination

5. Develop problem-solving & conflict resolution skills

6. Support physical activity & wellness

7. Ease the morning transition

8. Reduce after-school stress & overscheduling

9. Support working families

Sign-ups will be available next week!

Telra Culture Fair

We are thrilled to announce that our school will be hosting a Culture Fair event on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 5-7pm, and we would love to invite you and your family to join us in celebrating the wondrous cultures that make Telra such a vibrant community.

What is the Culture Fair?

Our Culture Fair offers an exciting opportunity for us to come together, share our unique traditions, and celebrate the many cultures that make up our school. It's a day to learn from each other, foster mutual understanding, and deepen our appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that enrich our community.

While traditional elements like cuisine, dance, attire, and celebrations from around the world will be a highlight of the event, we also recognize that culture is not limited to these practices. Culture is also shaped by the passions, interests, and identities that make each of us unique.

How You Can Participate

We invite you to participate in the Telra Culture Fair in whatever way feels meaningful to you. Whether you'd like to share a piece of your culture, showcase a tradition or hobby, or simply attend and enjoy the festivities with your family, your presence will be deeply appreciated. We welcome volunteers to help organize activities, set up tables, or contribute in any other way that interests you. Your involvement will make a significant impact on the experience we create for our students and the entire Telra community.

New This Year

This year we are allowing interested volunteers to sign up and showcase a cultural dance or demonstration. These will be on the blacktop and will be scheduled in 10-20 min increments, depending on how many sign-ups we have. The country should be represented with a table at the fair, and then also can be showcased by a dance or demonstration. All participants should be Telra family members of a current student or staff member. The events will take place outside on the blacktop, weather permitting. Please sign up using the 2nd button below.

If you'd like to participate or volunteer, please review the available slots and sign-up by clicking below.

Should you have any questions or need more information, feel free to email karly.lucas@telra.org.

Car Line Reminders

A big THANK YOU to all of our parents who have made our car line successful. Since the start of the calendar year, we have had a great record of arriving on time and the car line ending early. However, this week we've had three days with significant tardiness. If arriving in the car line, please leave early, have your children ready to exit the car swiftly, and say goodbye before they leave the car.

Helping Hands

Parents, we need your help! Please sign up to volunteer for "Helping Hands" - these helpers assist Telra staff by volunteering on Tuesdays or Fridays from 9-11am - completing tasks left for them in the "Helping Hands" box in the teacher workroom. These tasks may include copying papers, cutting out items, organizing the Lost and Found area, or re-shelving books in the neighborhood libraries - these are just a few examples of how you can help! When we have special requests, they will be added to the sign-up.

The Front Desk staff will assist you on where to go and what needs to be done. Please review the available slots in the link below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you for supporting our awesome staff!
