6th Grade "Halfway There!" Party

We are excited to offer our amazing 6th graders a special night at Telra tonight! Look for an update with pictures next week!

It's Spelling Bee Time!

We will have two Telra Spelling Bees this year, so please mark your calendars for:

Monday, January 26th - K-3rd Spelling Bee at 4:30pm

Tuesday, January 27th - 4th-8th Spelling Bee at 4:30pm

If either event is to be rescheduled due to the weather, a notice with rescheduled dates will go out on Sunday.

Spelling bees were held in each language arts class, culminating in final competitions next week. This year, the spelling bees will be held at St. Francis, our neighbor next-door, in the church sanctuary. Families of contestants should park in the Telra main parking lot and walk up to St. Francis.

How to prepare:

Did you know your child can start getting ready for the spelling bee? Students can play spelling and vocabulary games with all 450 words from the 2026 School Spelling Bee Study List plus the 4,000 words in Words of the Champions for free!

Available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play, or via this link:

Biology Club - Join Now!

The Biology Club at Telra is a hands-on, curiosity-driven club where 5th-7th grade students explore how living things work from the human body to the world around us. We’ll ask big questions like Why do we breathe?, How do cells work?, and What do scientists actually do?

Through fun activities, simple experiments, and interactive discussions, students will build a strong foundation in biology while learning to think like scientists. We also aim to give students opportunities to participate in science competitions and STEM fairs, where they can share their ideas, projects, and creativity.

If you enjoy science, asking “why,” or trying something new, we’d love for you to join us! Please fill out the application form and be part of the Telra Biology Club!

Applications are being accepted through January 30,2026!

Peer Tutoring Information

We are excited to share that a select group of our 9th-grade students is offering peer tutoring sessions for math on Tuesdays from 3:40–4:45 PM.

If you would like your child to participate, please complete the sign-up form (Click Here). If you have more than one child attending, you will need to complete a separate form for each child. Each session is limited to 10 students and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions can be booked up to three weeks in advance.

Please note that tutoring is for math only, and students must bring their workbook, textbook, and any specific assignments or problems they need help with.

Girls On The Run (GOTR)

Girls and Coaches Needed!

Girls on the Run is an afterschool youth development program for girls in 3rd–8th grade that helps them build confidence, connect with others, and recognize their power to make a difference — all while having fun and moving their bodies. Through games, discussions, and running activities, girls learn skills like standing up for themselves and others, managing emotions, and being part of a team.

We'd love to bring Girls on the Run back to Telra Institute this spring, but we can only do that with parent volunteers. Coaching is a simple, joy-filled way to support your child and their peers as they build confidence and discover their inner power. If you're looking for a meaningful way to get involved, we'd love to have you on the team! We will provide you with all the resources, training and tools you need to lead the way.

Please email the front desk at frontdesk@telra.org if you have any interest in coaching the Telra GOTR program!

While we continue finalizing coach coverage, families will still be able to register their girl now, so you don’t miss the window. No payments will be processed unless our team is officially confirmed for the spring. Here is the link to register: Girls On The Run!
