Night before school 2025

Are you ready?

School starts tomorrow, August 18

Some last-minute reminders

Check out what you missed in recent blog posts

Remember, first weeks are full of exciting, nervous energy and operational hiccups. So do expect that things will run late, take some deep breaths, and be a model of calm for your kids. Students, drivers, and staff will figure things out and make things run efficiently soon enough.

'Twas the Night Before School

As your children settle in their beds on their last night of summer break, we have a little poem to share that's a new school year tradition...

'Twas the night before school, at Telra so neat,

A charter in Charlotte, where young minds would meet.

On McKee, it stood proudly, ready to start,

A place for discovery, history, and art.

The students were dreaming, in beds far and near,

Excited for lessons they'd soon come to hear.

Their bags packed with notebooks, pencils and glee,

All set for the morning, and the school on McKee.

Outside, the calm streets of Charlotte did rest,

Anticipating the morning and Telra’s new quest.

The whiteboards were clean, the classrooms set right,

For a year of new learning, would soon take flight.

When dawn would approach, with a soft gentle hue,

The doors of the school would open anew.

Math, reading, and science, the subjects would flow,

In the heart of Charlotte, young minds would grow.

No testing would daunt them, they'd rise to the peak,

With guidance and patience, the answers they'd seek.

"To the labs and the books, to the fields where you play,

Learn on, Telra students, embrace the new day!"

And as the first rays of sunlight did appear,

The promise of a fresh school year was near.

In Charlotte’s embrace, with pride and esprit,

Stands Telra, the charter, on the road named McKee.
