2nd Trimester Explore Sign-ups
On November 21, students in grades 4-8 will be completing a survey to share their preferences for 2nd Trimester Explore classes. Students will complete this form during their specials class on Friday, November 21. Please note that the survey will not be accessible until Friday morning. We encourage you to review the survey with your child to discuss the available options. A detailed description of each club is provided in the file below.
Students who are absent will need to complete the form at home. Below, you will find the survey link.
The new explore classes will not begin until Friday, December 5. Be aware that we will take into account student preferences when assigning explore classes. However, we cannot guarantee that all students will get their first choice. Students should complete the form only once. If a student completes the form multiple times, then the first submission will be used, and all other submissions will not be taken into consideration.

Telra Annual Use fund update
We want to thank all the families that have already donated to 𝜏au -
the top fundraising priority for the school. Even though it's early in the year, families have donated over $12,000 (much of which has been matched by employer donations to total over $20,000)
Charter schools receive far less in resources & funding than other public schools, and your contributions to 𝜏au support everything from school buses to field trips, teacher compensation to yearbooks, the Family Council, and all our clubs and sports. We need your help to enhance the experience for our students[ and attract and retain high-quality staff.
This video explains the why behind 𝜏au - giving you a perspective into the funding gap, how the funds will be used, and why the annual fund structure is the best way to raise these funds. Please set aside some time to watch and learn why your support is critical.
Visit the 𝜏au home page where you can learn more, and it's quick and easy for you to support the cause.
Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular
If you're the type to plan ahead, you'll want to know that the Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular returns to Ballantyne's Backyard from 11/28-12/30.
Telra Families can earn a 10% discount for themselves and earn 10% for the school by purchasing advance tickets and using the discount code TELRA10.
General admission starts at $9 with the discount code, but specific days/times can sell out, so plan ahead!
The Carolina Holiday Light Spectacular will transform Ballantyne’s Backyard, November 28 – December 30, into an outdoor enchanting walking trail filled with over a million illuminated lights, larger-than-life holiday installations and scenes that will dazzle all visitors.
In addition to eye-catching, twinkling lights and festive installations, guests will experience a Winter Wonderland complete with dozens of magical over-sized snow globes, hundreds of decorated trees, The Alpine Avalanche Snow Tube Slide, and a new light castle, which is a stunning 30’ x 40’ structure that visitors can walk through and explore, immersing themselves into a magical, illuminated world.
There will also be a new kids’ playground area that will provide children with a fun and engaging space. Santa will be there every night through Dec. 23. On select evenings, the festive atmosphere will be enhanced by special performances from ballerinas and other performers, adding a touch of elegance and wonder to the experience. There will be children’s activities, a Moon Bounce, and a Holiday Village complete with boutiques, shops and rotating Food Trucks offering seasonal fare.
